Every beach in Nova Scotia holds different types of stones. Some are rolled smooth by the ocean, others have ribbons of quartz through them. When she’s not in the gallery, you might find Laurel Strachan at water’s edge discovering an ancient pebble for her jewelry making.

June is the month where Lupins reign supreme all through Nova Scotia. They grow in ditches, wasteland and fields. Painter Flora Doehler creates at least one portrait of these gorgeous wildflowers ever year.
